(April 21, 2023) – The housing market in Sarasota and Manatee counties reported nearly 50 percent more sales in March than the month immediately prior, while single-family home sales in Manatee County increased year-over-year for the first time in 12 consecutive months. According to data from Florida REALTORS® and compiled by the REALTOR® Association of Sarasota and Manatee (RASM), inventory continues to grow while home values hold steady.

SARASOTA, Fla. (March 21, 2023) – Home sales in Sarasota and Manatee counties showed a year-over year decline but a month-over-month increase in February. According to data from Florida REALTORS® and compiled by the REALTOR® Association of Sarasota and Manatee (RASM), inventory continues to increase significantly from the same time last year while the number of days from listing to contract has also increased by more than 250 percent in the North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton MSA.

Legend has it that this rich yet dainty sweet was invented at the behest of Mrs. Potter Palmer who desired a "Ladies Desert" neater to eat than pie to be used in box lunches at the Women's Building at the 1893 Columbian Exposition.  Bertha headed the Board of Lady Managers for the World's Fair, and the Palmer House was presented to her by her husband, Potter Palmer, as a wedding gift after their marriage in 1870, so the chiefs were delighted to oblige.  These are still served today at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago.
