What I quickly learned after moving to Sarasota is that you shop for real estate based on a neighborhood or area. Different parts of the country have their own lingo but it really means the same thing. Some would call it Neighborhoods others Communities and still others may refer to it as Subdivisions. All and all it comes down to the same thing, where would you like to live?
Then the big question is: How can I shop for real estate on line in those areas?
Most real estate web sites including Realtor.com do not let you narrow down your search options into specific areas. Usually it pretty much remains very generic by Price and Zip codes. If you click onto our Property Search page you can see how we have divided the Sarasota area into 17 areas. Then we take it much further than that. If you notice down the right side of our home page we list out all of Sarasota’s barrier Islands, Golf Course Communities, Lakewood Ranch, and Palmer Ranch. When you click onto an area such as Palmer Ranch or West of the Trail you will then see more specific neighborhoods within that area. When you click onto the Neighborhoods and Communities page which is on the right side of the home page you will see a long list of neighborhoods in Sarasota, followed by barrier Islands, Palmer Ranch, West of the Trail, Lakewood Ranch, East of I-75 and Golf Course communities.
