Searching for your next home should be an exciting time. I remember when my husband and I began searching to move to Sarasota in 1999. Back then we didn't have the internet like we do today so we would hang onto any pictures that we had sent to us from our realtor in Sarasota.
Today with what you can see from your home or on your smart phone shopping for real estate has become just like being there. In order to make your search easier and quicker we have designed 7 ways that you can search for a home and we have also included a Mortgage Calculator at the bottom of this page.

7 Different ways to shop for Sarasota Real Estate
Search by Areas – You can choose from 17 different areas of Sarasota and her Islands.
Search by Neighborhood or Condo Name - by entering the name you want into the search box.
Search by School Districts – Want to live near a particular school, simply choose from the list of schools.
Search by Address – Type the street name into the box to see what is for sale on just that street.
Search by Zip Code – Do you already know the zip code you want to live in, then type it into the box.
Search by MLS Number – If you have seen something for sale and know the mls number just type it in.
Search by MAP – Move the map around and see the display of all the homes for sale.
Click onto the house icon and see all the details.
Register to save your searches and the homes that you find.
Having an account allows you to save your searches and save any homes that you find of interest. After you register there are just a few easy steps to save your searches and homes that you like in your account.
Register for a FREE property search account by clicking onto Log-In or Register.
Now that you have an account you can save any of your searches into your ‘My Saved Searches’ folder and save any listings that you view into your ‘My Favorites’ folder for future viewing that can be found under the Search Tools menu.
Expose the Search Tools menu by clicking onto Search the MLS tab and the menu will open in the side bar.
How to Save a Search:
After you check that box it will prompt you to enter a Search Title in the box.
How to Save a listing to view in the future:
· If you see a property that you are interested in, you can save that listing by clicking the “Add to Favorites” tab that appears at the top of each listing details pages.
· This will save that listing into your ‘My Favorites’ tab under the Search Tools menu.
When you return to the site in the future Log-In to continue to save searches.
I realize that you may just be at the beginning of your home search and national surveys tell us that the average home buyer begins their search 6-8 months on-line before actually purchasing a home. Please enjoy viewing property as often as you would like.

This mortgage calculator can be used to figure out monthly payments of a home mortgage loan, based on the home's sale price, the term of the loan desired, buyer's down payment percentage, and the loan's interest rate. This calculator factors in PMI (Private Mortgage Insurance) for loans where less than 20% is put as a down payment. Also taken into consideration are the town property taxes, and their effect on the total monthly mortgage payment.
