As the Sarasota Real Estate Market continues to rebound examples of homes selling quickly is the evidence of how strong the Sarasota Market has become in the past several months.  Speculation of a rebounding market is one thing, however actual results is another.

Trader Joe’s is coming to Sarasota, FL trader joe's is coming to sarasota

The Sarasota Herald reported this morning that the popular grocery store chain Trader Joe’s is opening their second Florida store in Sarasota. Trader Joe’s confirmed this week that they will be opening a store at the former Rooms To Go furniture store location at 4101 South Tamiami Trail which is just south of Bee Ridge Road and across the street from the Best Buy and Barnes and Noble shopping plaza.  Rooms To Go built and moved to a larger store further south on Tamiami Trail this past year.

This past week the Sarasota Observer published the article below about the new growth that is happening in the Palmer Ranch area of Sarasota.  There is a definite uptick in activity with the new Kohl’s and Lowe’s stores now open and soon to have a new Costco that is now under construction.  As you will read there is also talk of new homes being built in Palmer Ranch.

WASHINGTON – Jan. 9, 2012 – You may owe federal income taxes in 2013 if you have a short sale, foreclosure after this year. Now is the time to make the hard decision: Are you going to walk away from your underwater home?

Uncle Sam is still giving homeowners until Dec. 31, 2012, to go through a short sale or foreclosure without tax consequences – as long as the lender officially releases the debt.

But on Jan. 1, 2013, the rules change: The amount a lender forgives, ether in a short sale or foreclosure, on a primary residence will be taxable on federal income taxes.
