Sarasota Yacht Club near Bird Key and St. Armand’s Circle
The Sarasota Yacht Club is located at 1100 John Ringling blvd. on the causeway coming out of downtown Sarasota just after you cross the John Ringling Bridge. The Yacht club is directly between Bird Key and St. Armand’s Circle in Sarasota, Fl.
Recently I was invited by a good friend of mine to attend the open house of their new facility that has been two years in the making. WOW! Was I impressed! I learned that the Sarasota Yacht club is a family-friendly private club offering a wide range of activities and programs for its members of all ages. The club has a history of over 80 years of cruising and racing. Sarasota Yacht Club is a club rooted in yachting tradition. In addition to the traditional boat related yacht club activities the club offers a broad range of club facilitated activities including kayaking, monthly theme parties, book and travel clubs, cycling and their ever popular Wine Society.
This new facility is simply amazing. This clubhouse is 40,000 sq. feet and can accommodate 500 members in 2 attractive waterfront dining rooms and 2 lounges. The outdoor patio dining and lounge area has space for another 115 members and guests. The Spinnaker Deck and Bar features their new outdoor pool, bar, and cabana area, which offers light bites and beverages and has access to the new fitness center.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch while sitting on the outside waterside terrace deck overlooking the magnificent homes on Bird Key. I was also very impressed with the large number of clubs and activities available to all the members. Here is a partial list of the clubs and activities available.

The new facility features a Resort Pool and Cabanas, Modern Fitness Center, 100 plus Boat Slip Marina, Boat Launch Ramp, Ships Store Boutique, Indoor and Outdoor Dining Ares, Private Rooms for Parties, Banquets, and Meetings, Complimentary Valet Parking.
